Got into the bay area very late last night and was lucky enough to have a few late night minutes with a view of the bridge and the smell of eucalyptus from Cavallo Point. Opening the door this morning was an equally spectacular reminder of all of the best of Northern California.

Freedom again. When I left California then only really tough moment for me was selling my car. I walked away (2 days from the move) and started crying. Oddly as much as I’ve loved being a pedestrian for the first time in my life, driving with the top down through the Catskills this weekend with the new car reminded me that there are some ideas of freedom bred into me by 20 years in California that I can’t shrug off.
