2. Tumblr.

This is getting meta now but about a year ago I was struggling through a word-press blog that was supposed to be a substitute for a hand-written diary when I came across a blog called “the vow” which was a simple stream of photos, baked goods and outfits on a thing called tumblr.

It was so simple yet so compelling that I dropped my earlier on-line efforts and started a  tumblr. blog. What has been so compelling is not just the ease of capture for me but the way in which its suddenly placed me into a stream of blogs that feed me with people’s passions daily. Some are one note all books, all interiors, all pictures of what people are wearing that day:

Some are varied a collection of music clothing, natural scenes that people found inspiring:

All together it made for a tremendously easy to tap into, somewhere between a social media experience and straight up scrap book that allows you to place your inspiration into a world of inspiration from people you’ve never met.
